Meet the Benedicts – Coffylosophy’s six variations of the popular brekky staple

With five staple menu items, the CBD cafe has resurrected one its most popular eggs benny flavour combos for a limited time.

It’s a breakfast staple that is endorsed by many a brunch enthusiast around the world but a local Adelaide café is turning the idea of a simple eggs benny on its head with its mouth-watering variations.

While the original hollandaise-covered brekky is delicious as is, Coffylosophy has some egg-citing twists on the classic and in turn, has made a name for itself across the city as the unofficial ‘home of hollandaise’.

Complete with its own section on the menu, “The Benedicts” have five flavour combinations to please any and all taste buds including the Salmon Royale, Pulled Pork and the ever-popular Nashville Hot Chicken, which, when paired with boozy bacon jam is the one that has people coming back for more.

And now, due to popular demand, Coffylosophy has added an extra member to The Benedict family as they bring back the Brisket Benedict. This mouth-watering brunch dish was initially added to the specials menu earlier this year and after an overwhelming response, the team at Coffylosophy have brought it back once again for a limited time.

The café’s owner, Harsh Mehta, describes it best. “It’s a southern twist to a classic Benedict, but with a modern, refreshing, clean touch,” she says. “Made with miso-glazed brisket using the award-winning black Angus beef from the Riverina region, the dish also uses local baby spinach, Clare Valley Rohdes poached eggs, pickled onion, smokey herb oil, tangy hollandaise and fried garlic served on a bed of house-made sweet potato rösti.”

Mouth watering? Thought so. Coffylosophy also hand make its own hollandaise and prep, smoke and slice all its meats in house adding a level of freshness that is hard to come by elsewhere.

Since opening in 2014, the Hutt Street café has made a name for itself for serving up some hunger-busting meals such as its Beast Breakfast (which is the ultimate hangover cure) and after being awarded the Best Coffee Spot in Adelaide in the 2020 City Awards, you can be assured you’ll be served up the perfect cup of Joe to accompany your meal.

Coffylosophy is located at 198A Hutt St, Adelaide.
