Pizza is brilliant. Wine is brilliant. The ocean is brilliant. Combine the three and you’ve got Melt’s inaugural Cellar Door By The Sea.
Melt has become somewhat of an Adelaide institution, with established restaurants in the CBD and on King William Road. The most recent iteration, having opened early last year, is Melt Henley. Headed by an expert team featuring the likes of Simon Kardachi (Osteria Oggi, Shōbōsho), and Oliver Margan (Maybe Mae), the venue has gained a keen following, and a heavy presence on any Instagram feed.
The team is partnering with Adelaide Hills winery, Pike & Joyce, for an afternoon of pizza and wine, to celebrate the launch of their Cellar Door By The Sea. This will be a reoccurring monthly event, with a fabulous rotation of wineries and themes planned. This is a chance to experience a wine tasting and a delicious lunch, whilst looking out at the SA coastline.
Pike & Joyce is the first winery to take over the seaside cellar door, with the event taking place this Sunday, June 2, from 12 – 4pm. Having gained a reputation as the one of the Adelaide Hills’ finest, Pike & Joyce combines traditional, old-world techniques with a contemporary Aussie approach for a style reflecting variety, region, and vintage. The perfect accompaniment to Melt’s mouth-watering pizzas.
Once the Cellar Door By The Sea wraps up, why not take the opportunity to kick on at one of Henley’s bustling bars – popular spots SeaSalt and West can actually be found in the same building as Melt. We’ve also recently released a guide to Henley’s cosy bar scene to help you find your drinking place of choice.
You can find Melt Henley, and the Cellar Door By The Sea, at 269 Seaview Road,Henley Beach SA 5022.
