Friday night takeaway is about to taste even better with Menulog’s new initiative with OzHarvest.
Menulog is turning Friday night food delivery into a charitable act of giving all while helping out small Aussie local businesses.
This is through the new Meal 4 Good campaign which will help raise vital funds for the food rescue organisation.
For every order placed to a Menulog Local Legend (a small Aussie local business that shows amazing customer service and great food) Menulog will donate the cost of a meal to OzHarvest.
The campaign starts Friday September 24 and will run on the last Friday of each month until August 2022.
There are multiple Local Legend restaurants in Adelaide and around SA, so whether it’s for the Friday night pizza treat or a lunchtime burger snack, ordering from one of these businesses this Friday also goes towards a good cause.
Menulog selected the last Friday of every month for this campaign as its data shows there are 30% more orders on a Friday than any other day, contributing to its ambition to drive the best possible results for the campaign.
Menulog have decided to do this as a result of increased demand for food relief in Australia particularly as a result of COVID.
Since March last year, requests have nearly doubled to 47% with OzHarvest working hard to provide fresh and nutritious food to vulnerable communities across the country.
They are currently supporting around 478,000 people every month.
OzHarvest have begun buying food to help meet the need which is something the charity have never had to do before as – typically OzHarvest rescue unused food from restaurants and provide it to those in need.
The new campaign is a way to direct business to small local restaurants who may be doing it tough while also providing much needed cash to OzHarvest so they can help provide food to those in need.
Menulog aims to expand the Local Legend program in 2022.
This is through incentivising restaurants to secure and maintain the Local Legend badge, with the opportunity to have Menulog fund donations to OzHarvest for orders made through their restaurant each month, as well as a suite of other benefits.
To participate in the campaign, customers simply order their meals on the selected days from a listed Local Legend restaurant via the Menulog app or website.
For every order, a meal will be donated to OzHarvest.
