Mercato reopens in Campbelltown after SA Health clearance

The Campbelltown shop was named as an exposure site earlier this week, but it has since been cleared and will reopen Saturday, July 23.

Good news for Mercato shoppers: The specialty grocer has reopened after SA Health clearance.

The Campbelltown shop was named as an exposure site earlier this week, with shoppers who visited Mercato between 2-3pm on Monday, July 12 having to get tested and self-isolate. The shop has now been cleared and is set to open.

“The coffee machine will be on from 7.30am for takeaway, and the store is fully stocked with all of your favourite, authentic Italian food and wine supplies,” the grocer says of their Saturday morning opening.

The shop says they are grateful to the customers who stuck by them through this trying time.

“You have stood by us through such a difficult time – not only these past few days but the past few weeks, which have been a little challenging for the Mercato family,” they shared on social media.

“We read every one of your messages, and your love, support and good wishes have overwhelmed us – we are truly grateful.”

Since 1972, Mercato has been known for their authentic Italian food, wine, and culinary experiences such as passata making. They have fresh produce, cheeses, fresh-made coffee, Italian wine, homemade pastries, quick meals, and of course usual grocery items like pantry items and small goods.

They’re eager to reopen and continue selling their products to Campbelltown and the surrounding communities.

“Our goal is to bring a little bit of Italian joy to your lives, and we look forward to continuing that from tomorrow.”
