Mercure Grosvenor Sumo’s in to Asiafest

Mercure Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide has been announced as the official hotel partner for Asiafest, a new 3 day culinary festival being held in Rymill Park over the Labour Day Long weekend from the 4th – 6th October 2014.

For the first time ever, Asiafest will bring the art of Japanese Sumo Wrestling to Adelaide direct from Japan with Sumo Mania. Professional Japanese Sumo wrestlers, referees, ring announcers and sumo barbers will all be housed under one of the largest custom built arenas Adelaide has ever seen as part of this traditional Sumo experience.

In addition to Sumo Mania, Asiafest will also feature an open air marketplace which will take visitors on a cultural culinary journey through Japan, Vietnam, China, Korea and Thailand. Bringing together the best of Adelaide’s Asian restaurants and bars and coupled with an entertainment line-up including traditional drumming, dance, art and martial arts this 3 day festival is a hands-on experience for all ages.
