Forget tiny pretzels and questionable coffee, Virgin Australia is taking inflight dining to new heights with the launch of its revamped Economy and Business Class menus. Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for takeoff because things are about to get delicious at 35,000 feet.
From today, Economy passengers can say “cheers” to a whole new level of inflight refreshment. Think Batched Salted Grapefruit Margaritas and Papa Salt Gin Palomas perfectly paired with gourmet snacks like hot Belgian chocolate waffles and corn chips and salsa. Yes, you read that right – margaritas at 35,000 feet!
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Virgin Australia has partnered with The Street Food Co. to offer a range of tasty meals on select flights, including spinach and ricotta cannelloni and honey chicken fried rice. And for those with a sweet tooth, the decadent Byron Bay Triple Choc Cookies are a must-try.
“Delivering the highest quality in-flight experience is at the core of what we do, and this extends to our menus,” says Virgin Australia’s General Manager Product and Customer Strategy, Ali Dunn. “We’ve curated a diverse selection of meals and snacks that highlight premium Australian produce and cater to a variety of tastes.”
And for those lucky enough to be travelling Business Class, prepare for a culinary adventure. From November 20th, a new cafe-style menu will be unveiled, featuring fresh, seasonal dishes with a focus on local ingredients. Highlights include passionfruit mango pancake stacks, chicken noodle salad with nuoc nam dressing, and pork in sticky lemon sauce with aged rice and vegetables. Of course, no Business Class experience would be complete without a sweet treat, and the salted caramel slice is sure to satisfy.
Dunn adds, “From refreshing beverages to delicious new meal options in both Economy and Business Class, our inflight dining has something for everyone. Plus, our award-winning cabin crew, known for their exceptional service, are integral to the process, providing valuable input during taste tests.”
In addition to the exciting new menus, Virgin Australia has also introduced digital receipts for onboard purchases, making it easier than ever to track your spending. Simply visit virginaustralia.com/onboardreceipts after your flight to download a copy.
