Miss Burlesque Australia Finals

BurlesquThe feathers will fly when Australia’s emerging and professional burlesque performers battle it out for the title of Miss Burlesque Australia across the country in July and August 2010.

Burlesque performers around the country are hard at work perfecting their routines for Australia’s first world class competition in the genre, Miss Burlesque Australia.

Out of 300 applicants, 60 finalists have been selected to compete in each state who will compete for Miss Burlesque in their state, and ultimately, Miss Burlesque Australia.  The prize pool is worth over $10,000 AUD including a return trip to Paris, cash, costumes and more.

The Title of Miss Burlesque Australia will be awarded to the best overall performer across a range of activities including Traditional, Neo and unique interpretation of Burlesque. Personality, performance, skill and presentation all form key parts of winning the competition.

The South Australian finalists;

Flavella L’Amour is Adelaide’s only exotic Serpent dancer and award winning nominee for best dance performance at 2009 Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Hedy Bell Nova is an emerging talent on the Australian Burlesque Scene. She is well known for her cute often quirky routines and adorable costumes.

Luna Eclipse is best known for her saucy peels and hypnotic hips. She combines her talent in Belly dancing, Swing dancing, Vintage jazz and blues to create acts which will leave you needing to pick up your tongue.

Miss Jane single handedly proves that life is better in lingerie and has been known to hypnotize audiences with her dark eyes and cheeky moves.

Miss Sapphire Snow has legs that go for miles and a smile to sink you heart. In her show Miss Sapphire Snow will lead you into a world full of glamour, beauty and sparkle!

Sapphire Demure is inspired by the dark cabaret halls of the1920’s and 30’s and combines kooky characterization with a smouldering vamp neo influence to create a truly unique burlesque style.

Silla Black is currently the prinicipal performer for Dr Sketchy’s Adelaide.

Violet Deflower is a relative newcomer to Burlesque, having recently completed Sugar Blue Burlesque’s Advanced course and Showgirl course. She has performed in 4 amateur shows so far, in both group and solo performances.
