Miss Galaxy Girls Help Wishes Come True

Miss Galaxy

Thirteen of Adelaide’s beauties will be competing for the Miss Galaxy Australia crown next Thursday night, 31st of January, at the Arkaba Hotel in Fullarton. The Miss Galaxy Pageant has been successfully running in America for the past 15 years, and was bought to Australia for the first time last year. The pageant consists of five judging criteria sections, photographic, interview, fashion wear, swimwear and evening gown.

On Thursday evening three South Australian finalists will be selected to compete in the nationals held in Sydney towards the end of March. At the nationals, the winner of Miss Galaxy Australia will be crowned and will travel to America to compete for Australia in the Galaxy International 2013 final. There are also numerous prizes up for grabs for the winner, runner-up, finalists and all other contestants.

Contestants taking part in the competition are encouraged to help raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation, who help grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

One of South Australia’s finalists, Jessica Davis, recently made a visit to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Jessica said she wanted to meet and greet with some of children to experience first hand their battles with these life-threatening diseases.

Jessica DavisJessica has chosen to raise money by holding a red carpet event on the 14th of February at White Rabbit on Hindley Street. The event also happens to fall on her 23rd birthday where there will be a fashion show and live fashion auction to celebrate and raise money to help grant more wishes. For the next couple of weekends Jessica will also be making appearances at shopping malls and popular nightclubs wearing a dazzling crown and Alexis George gown to raise awareness for the foundation and to receive some extra donations.

Jessica hopes to raise $3000, and so far has already hit $1080.20! Her main sponsor of the Miss Galaxy Pageant is Sphere Cosmetics and Hair Design. “They have been a vital part of my success within the competition so far,” Jessica says.

Glam Adelaide would like to wish Jessica and all of the other SA contestants good luck with the competition and their fundraising efforts!
