There’s been a big changes on the radio waves.

Mix102.3 has surged ahead to reclaim its title as Adelaide’s #1 radio station. The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show has been a significant driving force behind this resurgence, marking the most substantial share growth in the market and securing its position as Adelaide’s #2FM, with an impressive 2.1% increase.

ARN’s Chief Content Officer, Duncan Campbell, expressed immense pride in the content produced throughout the year.

“I’m extremely proud of the content we’ve produced this year which is reflected not only in today’s survey results but also the record haul of ACRA nominations we received last week. I’d like to congratulate the Mix 102.3 team in Adelaide, with The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show seeing consecutive survey growth and increasing its share by a huge 2.1% this latest survey, jumping to #2FM Breakfast.”

Stephen Werner, Mix 102.3’s Content Director, echoed similar sentiments, attributing the success to the relentless efforts of the team and the unwavering support of Adelaide’s listeners.

“I am extremely proud of the team who have worked so hard to achieve this incredible result and we thank the people Adelaide who have tuned in and joined the Mix 102.3 Family.”

The latest survey results for Mix102.3 are:

  • The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show stands as Adelaide’s #2FM, boasting an 11.2% share, a jump of 2.1%.
  • The station enjoys the largest audience in Adelaide, with 376,000 weekly listeners.
  • Mix102.3’s Will & Woody Drive show has achieved an 11.4% share.
  • The station also leads in FM streaming share in Adelaide.

However, the radio landscape in Adelaide has seen a significant shift. Triple M, which had been reigning supreme, has now been dethroned with Mix gaining an additional 0.7 percentage points of listener share. Nova retains its third position.

Talk stations, FIVEaa and ABC Radio Adelaide, found themselves at the lower end of the spectrum. Mix’s consistent performance across various demographics is a key factor behind its success, while ABC Radio Adelaide grapples with demographic challenges, particularly among younger listeners.

The journey hasn’t been smooth for Ali Clarke. After leaving her top-rated ABC breakfast show in 2021, she faced a dip in ratings. However, with determination and strategic changes to the program, Clarke has managed to steer her show to its current success.
