Modbury Sporting Club has officially submitted its renovation plans for planning approval.
The club, which is home to both the Modbury Football and Modbury Cricket clubs, is set to undergo a significant transformation with a new $5 million club room facility.

With over 700 players and members participating in cricket and football at both senior and junior levels, the new facility aims to better cater to the club’s growing needs.
The construction, slated to begin later this year, boasts an impressive list of features. These include four unisex change rooms, dedicated umpire rooms, a spacious function area, and other essential amenities.

The club, which has members competing in both male and female competitions, believes that these upgrades will significantly enhance the experience for all its members.
The project, expected to be completed by late 2024, has received substantial financial support. Tea Tree Gully Council has committed $1.12 million, while the State Government is funding $3.87 million.

This renovation was promised as part of a broader initiative by the former Marshall Liberal Government. $20.6 million was allocated to the Infrastructure Projects 2021-22 grant program, aimed at enhancing grassroots sports facilities across the state.
Modbury Sporting Club’s renovation is just one of many projects funded by the grant. Other recipients include Tea Tree Gully City Soccer, Golden Grove Soccer Club, and Prince Alfred Old Collegians Football Club, among others.
It’s expected to be completed late next year.
