Mosaic Hotel’s new fit-out grabs the attention of prestigious awards

Sitting on the old Football Park site, The Mosaic Hotel has been a favourite pre-game drink spot for Australian Football fans since the venues opening.

The recently renovated Mosaic Hotel has been recognised in the prestigious AHA Awards for Excellence, having been announced as a finalist in four categories.

Sitting on the old Football Park site its been a favourite pre-game drink spot for Australian Football fans since the venue opened in 1994. Priding itself on offering wholesome food, diverse flavours and unintimidating menus, Mosaic strives to support authentic SA food producers whilst implementing environmentally friendly processes.

Serving 17 South Australian gins, exclusively SA wine, Cirelli Coffee from Welland and a range of SA canned craft beer and cider, hotel manager Emilee Moore has made it a priority to work closely with local suppliers, whilst also putting a focus on sourcing as many products as possible from sustainable distillers, brewers and wine makers.

An example of the unique SA connections Moore has made for the Hotel – the bar doesn’t stock Kahlua, instead Unico Caffe is the choice, which is a coffee liqueur from Applewood distillery in Gumeracha. So, when you’re ordering an Espresso Martini, you’ll be drinking Vodka from Tasmania (666 Butter Vodka), Unico Caffe from Gumeracha and Coffee from Cirelli in Welland!

Moore says, “the Mosaic possesses an importance to the fabric of SA by continually supporting local suppliers. We, as I speak on behalf of the team here at the hotel and the SANFL, are looking towards the future and believe the Mosaic will be a strong part of the community that is growing around us here. The hotel is just like a mosaic tile, you’ve got a piece of this and a piece of that and it all comes together in one venue”.

They also encompass environmentally sustainable practices, with green waste being sent to farms in the Adelaide Hills for food at the piggery and compost for the soil. Cardboard products are recycled, and general waste is sent to a concrete company which breaks down the waste and uses it in pouring concrete and bricks for building – with absolutely no landfill.

Their new-look contemporary and spacious hotel underwent a major development in 2020, and now offers various bar and dining areas, a bright alfresco deck with two-way fireplace for all-year round comfort, modernised sports bar with 10 big TV screens, TAB facilities and gaming-room fitted with 40 of the latest machines.

The AHA SA Awards for Excellence are recognised as the most prestigious awards in the hospitality industry, honouring the achievement of excellence, ensuring our state’s hotels are some of the best in Australia. The hotels on-going commitment to providing sophisticated food and beverage offerings has been recognised by the awards panel for their service in the western suburbs .

‘’Since its redevelopment in 2020, the Mosaic Hotel has been quick to establish itself as the ideal venue to enjoy a family meal, a small function with friends and colleagues, or to cheer on your favourite team on the big screen in the Sports Bar. Its captured the hearts and minds of the local community as the new West development takes shape”, SANFL CEO Darren Chandler says.

From the Sports Bar to the latest gaming facilities, to Sunday afternoon grazing and drinks on the alfresco deck or restaurant, this is the place to get together with family and friends. With an extensive menu, from wood-fired oven pizzas and pub classics like parmi’s and burgers to bowl food, fine dining and contemporary specialty mains, they’ve catered to appeal to all foodies.

Winners of the 2021 AHA SA Wards for Excellence will be announced at their Gala Dinner on Tuesday 26 October, with the Mosaic nominateed in the categories of bar presentation, restaurant (metro), redevelopment and TAB facilities.
