The sounds of Motown are set to echo through Adelaide again with the return of “Dancing in the Shadows of Motown” at the Regal Theatre in Kensington Park. On Saturday October 19th, this acclaimed production will be showcasing an array of Motown hits that continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
This production, heralded for its vibrant and energetic performances, brings together a 10-piece powerhouse band with internationally renowned artists. They replicate the electric live performances of legendary Motown artists such as The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Martha and The Vandellas, The Four Tops, The Jackson Five, Smokey Robinson, and many others. The show includes an impressive line-up of classic hits like “Reach Out”, “Stop In The Name Of Love”, “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg”, “Heatwave”, “Get Ready”, “I Heard It Through the Grapevine”, “Dancing in The Streets”, and “My Girl”, among others.
The motivational force of these performances has ensured the show’s previous runs at the Regal Theatre were completely sold out.
The show has been met with glowing accolades from some of the original architects and promoters of the Motown sound. Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown Records, praised it saying, “They sound and look incredible!!!”. Mickey Stevenson, Motown Records’ first A&R Manager loved it, saying, “This show is Amazing!”
Paul Christie, the founder of The Party Boys and bass player for Mondo Rock, also shared his admiration, stating, “It’s a joy to behold. Go see this band if you want an instant uplift!”
For those eager to witness these timeless Motown hits come alive once more, ticket bookings are now on sale.
