Mount Lofty House to host Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation Spring Fling Garden Party to raise money for children’s sport

Mount Lofty House will host Spring Fling Garden Party this month to raise funds for the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation.

Mount Lofty House will host a Spring Fling Garden Party this month to raise funds for the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation, with the event set to be an night of “good times, good fun, all for a good cause”.

The garden party will be held in the beautiful Coach House and surrounding gardens as guests enjoy a selection of canapes and a welcome drink on arrival, as they take in views of lush vineyards and the stunning Piccadilly Valley.

Proceeds for the event will be going towards supporting the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation, which was created in 2010 by its namesake tennis player Roger Rasheed. The goal is to provide opportunities for disadvantaged children across Australia to get involved in sports. Through various programs children are taught a variety of greater life skills such as teamwork, work ethics, and mateship, while also improving health and wellbeing.

Three facilities have been built in South Australia thanks to collaboration with local councils in Marion, Onkaparinga and Elizabeth Grove. While the facilities are primarily used to host a variety of children’s sport’s programs such as skateboarding and parkour classes, they are freely available for use for both adults and children.

Since his retirement, Roger has become passionate about mentoring others to become the best versions of themselves using sport as a facilitator, stating on the foundations website: “I have seen first-hand the difference sport can make can make to kids, now and in their future. This is what the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation is all about – giving these kids access to a better life by giving them access to sport.”
