Come along and join in the fun with some raucous laughs, fancy fashion on film and a night of pure joy at a movie night fundraiser, all while supporting the amazing and vital Catherine House.
On the screen will be the 2022 release Mrs Harris Goes to Paris. The film portrays 1950s London, where a widowed cleaning lady falls madly in love with a couture Dior dress, deciding she must have one of her own. After working to raise the funds to pursue her dream, she embarks on an adventure to Paris that will change not only her own outlook — but the very future of the House of Dior.
The film intends to empower but also educate those in need of the motivation to pursue their goals.
However, the film won’t be the only thing that attempts to empower you.
Event organiser and owner of Love for Lobes Sarah Henson, is a voluntary Community Ambassador for Catherine House.
Catherine House offers crisis, longer term accommodation and support services for women experiencing homelessness.
All programs and services are recovery-orientated and provide trauma-informed care.
Henson who happens to be an ex-police officer in family violence intends to support, acknowledge and empower those who need it.
“With government funding slashed for this exceptional (and much needed service) let’s smash that glass ceiling and increase Catherine House’s funds so they can continue their vital care and work for women experiencing homelessness in SA.
“For Catherine House this year, I have raised and donated over $8100 from events & product cash donations from my business sales – I donate $2 from every single product purchased, shared between Catherine House & Love Your Sister,” Henson said.
Whilst at the movie night there will be a raffle with prizes up for grabs as well as licensed bar.
