Moving Music Coming to Adelaide in 2013

A High Note Creations and Fascination Street will unveil a mystery when Moving Music leads spectators around the nooks and crannies of Adelaide’s CBD on a secret tour of music, visual art and design on January 19 2013.

Led by a safari suited stranger down alleyways, through gardens and over hills, this interactive tour will feature various artists from Adelaide working collaboratively to delight the ear and please the eye across an afternoon and evening.

Featuring on this inaugural event, will be The Timbers, Wild Oats, Hurricanes, Carla Lippis & The Martial Hearts, Ferris Mular, Monkey Puzzle Tree with Erin Fowler, Naomi Keyte, Atlantic Street Band, Gary Seaman, Joshua Smith, Olivia Freear, KatCoppock, Madison Bycroft, Fletch, Thom Buchanan and Ebony Obst.

This tour will boldly match each band performing on the tour with a visual artist, to work collectively towards a creative common ground. The result will involve an eight location walking tour, each space featuring a gig installation crafted for the public.

Sam Wright, Director of A High Note Creations says “Moving Music is about taking underutilized spaces in our fine city and claiming them back as our own. We invite the participants of this tour to view Adelaide with a new lens, a new appreciation of how things can be with a little imagination.

Moving Music first began as a pilot project in January 2012 and ran between both Wright and a design collective, aptly titled Fascination Street.

Branko Jaric, co-founder of Fascination Street said “Moving Music has grown to take on a life of its own in this city. While we are passionate about designing the spaces that this project travels to along its mysterious path, the true magic of this tour is in the participation of Adelaide’s public and a want for a better city by all of them. The activeness of our audience and their buy-in to adventure is what makes this kind of event so special.”

The buy-in for Moving Music began very early on in the project’s life with a tremendous amount of monetary support flowing through to the project from Pozible. Moving Music reached a crowd funding goal of $2000 earlier this year within a swift nine hours.
