Mulled wine, fire pits and paella at Brighton street party this Saturday

The Brighton Winter Solstice street party returns this Saturday, where Jetty Road will come alive with toasty winter festivities.

Want to mark this year’s Winter Solstice by a warm fire pit, with mulled wine in one hand and paella in the other? If this sounds like you, check out the Brighton Winter Solstice street party, taking over Jetty Road on Saturday 18 June.

This follows the great success of the Brighton Winter Solstice inaugural event in 2021, which saw vendors spill out onto the road with various wintery special offers.

The Big Shots coffee van will be offering some cocktails and a small snack menu on the night to get you started, while venues such as The Seller Door, Alimentary Eatery, CREAM, Brighton Beach Pit, In Thai and more will be dishing up some late night alfesco-style meals.

Notably, The Seller Door will be serving paella and mulled wine from its outdoor bar to get you into the wintery spirit. CREAM will be putting its west coast smash patty menu to good use, alongside a Espresso Martini cocktail cart outside the front of its store.

Beach Pit will be serving hot chip cones, chargrilled bread, and more, while In Thai will be spicing things up with Laksa and curries.

While you indulge by the fire, free face painting will be available for the kids between 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Jetty Babes. If you’re really lucky, you’ll also be able to get a portrait of your dog painted outside Lotus Gifts Design and Style.

From 3:00pm, Porch Records will be curating an epic music program, starting with Lazaro Numa, the Cuban trumpeter that lights up the stage with Cuban ensemble, Sabor a Cuba.

For contemporary soul and all things groovy, Adelaide band Tell Mama will be performing from 6:00pm – 7:30pm, followed close behind by the Ben Finnis Trio until 9:00pm.

Jetty Road will be closed from Elm Street to the Esplanade and will be free entry for all those wishing to participate in the festivities.
