Adelaide’s Prohibition Liquor Co is raising a glass to mums this May, with a weekend of gin-filled celebrations leading up to the release of a limited-edition drop, ‘Mum’s Gin’, made just for them.
On Sunday 11 May, Prohibition’s Gilbert Street Distillery will host a line-up of Mother’s Day events so that you can really treat mum.
Start the morning with the Bootleg Brunch from 10am to 12pm. Think brunch boards, ricotta and mushroom toast, and a hot drink for adults. Kids get a tray of sweet treats and a fruit box.
At 11:30am, the Gin High Tea steps things up with two serves of Mum’s Gin per adult, unlimited coffee, classic high tea fare, and a Mum’s Gin chocolate truffle. Little ones aren’t left out either. They’ll get hot chocolate and bite-sized sweets. Guests at both sessions can take $10 off a bottle of the limited release Mum’s Gin on the day.

In the afternoon, the distillery shifts into cocktail mode. A hands-on mixing class from 2:30pm to 4:30pm includes two Mum’s Gin cocktails, a grazing platter, and some insider tips on how to shake and stir like a pro. You’ll also score $10 off gin bottles to take home.
If the Barossa is more your locale, Prohibition Seppeltsfield Distillery is joining in the fun too. Their Mother’s Day Gin Masterclass runs from 11am to midday and includes tastings of four gins, including the 2025 Mum’s Gin, with garnishes, mixers, and a sweet treat to round things off. Local duo Suedan will be playing live acoustic tunes throughout the session.

It’s all about the limited-edition Mum’s Gin, and it’s back for 2025 and ready to impress. This special small-batch spirit blends rose, pomegranate and vanilla with a citrusy kick from Riverland fruit, layered with hibiscus, lavender and warming spice. It’s smooth enough to sip over ice and bold enough to shine in a G&T with strawberries.

Tickets are limited and booking fast, so now’s the time to lock in a spot for you and mum at one of Adelaide’s most spirited Mother’s Day experiences.
