For those of you who love the idea of a cup of tea and a tarot reading, The Queen of Adelaide is planning on doing just that with a ‘Mystic High Tea’ next month.
The Mystic High Tea combines all the things we love about a high tea, flavoursome tea, sweet treats and perhaps a little witchcraft.
Held on October 29, The Queen of Adelaide will host 2 mystic-themed high tea sessions that will include mini tarot readings, mini crystal ball readings and mini tea leaf reading.

With this being The Queen of Adelaide’s first themed high tea, it is definitely an opportunity to see the amazing growth that the business has had in such a short period of time.
After living in Sydney for the past 11 years, owner Carolyn anxiously waited to return to her hometown of Adelaide and bring the glamour of Sydney’s High Tea world with her, opening the cafe in June of this year.
“The business started with myself and one of my daughters, Lola, and now boasts a staff payroll of six full-time employees, and 12 casual staff including juniors,” Carolyn says.
“With a passion for beautiful things and the finer things in life, it was my heart-felt desire to open a high tea like nothing else Adelaide had seen.”
The business is named in honour of her mother-in-law, Heidi Hardlitschke, who she lovingly refers to as the “The Queen”.

After searching for a home for her café, Carolyn says she is “just delighted” to finally be opening in the Early Settlers furniture store which she says is a “match made in heaven”.
Early Settler’s previous café, Pressed Tin, had to close due to COVID like so many other cafes and stores, but for Carolyn, it was the perfect timing and she snapped up the spot.
“Early Settler customers are my customers that I am looking for. This was serendipitous, I was in love. The Queen had found her home.”

The Queen of Adelaide also doesn’t exclude man’s best friend, with a Doggie High Tea’s including Doggie Donuts, Fairy Bread and more.

Carolyn also hinted at other themed high teas in the pipeline with a Mad Hatter High Tea in November and a Christmas High Tea in December.
