Northern suburbs, get excited! Nando’s is turning up the heat in a big way. This Monday, the flame-grilled favourite opens its first-ever South Australian Drive Thru in Munno Para, and they’re marking the milestone with a seriously spicy celebration.
Set on the corner of Main North Road and Curtis Road, the new store blends classic Nando’s energy with the convenience of a speedy Drive Thru. Inside, it’s anything but your average fast-food fit-out. The restaurant features original artworks by South African artist Blessing Blaai, creating a vibrant, art-driven space that celebrates Nando’s African-Portuguese roots.
Munno Para is also home to a national first. Nando’s is rolling out a range of premium beverages exclusively at this Drive Thru location, including frozen cocktails and beers on tap for dine-in guests, taking the experience up a notch for those choosing to settle in for their PERi-PERi fix. And from 12pm to 4pm, customers can score free ¼ flame-grilled PERi-PERi Chicken and Chips, no strings attached.
The launch aligns with Nando’s ambitious expansion strategy, with Brand and Customer Director for Australia and New Zealand, Darren Hampton, explaining the scale of what’s to come.
“Over the next three years, we’re turning up the heat on growth and opening another 25 Nando’s restaurants across Australia and New Zealand, growing our workforce by 1,000 people,” he says.
“Munno Para is our tenth opening this year alone – and with more to come before Christmas, we’re making good on our promise to bring Nando’s to more communities in more formats than ever before.”
For northern Adelaide dwellers, the new Drive Thru offers quick, convenient access to their favourite PERi-PERi meals without losing the Nando’s atmosphere we know and love. Expect bottomless drinks for dine-in, free-flowing PERi-PERi sauces, and funky Afro-Luso beats bringing the vibe.
Better still, no purchase is required to take advantage of the opening-day feast, just a bit of patience. If previous openings are anything to go by, it’ll be heaving.
