After years of anticipation, the Kincraig Hotel in Naracoorte is edging closer to reopening, with major renovation works now mainly complete, the historic venue entering its final stages ahead of welcoming guests once again.
Originally announced in 2024 following its acquisition by the Dean Group of Hotels, the once-closed pub has undergone an extensive transformation, breathing new life into one of the Limestone Coast’s most iconic buildings.
The large-scale redevelopment has stayed true to the hotel’s art deco roots while delivering a modern, high-end experience across every corner of the venue. Now, as works near completion, the vision is becoming a reality.
Recent progress shared on their socials showed a range of key upgrades in all their new glory. A newly constructed upstairs hallway now connects the refreshed accommodation spaces, which have all been upgraded to a high standard, offering guests a comfortable and contemporary stay while still reflecting the building’s heritage character.
Accessibility has also been a major focus, with a lift now installed to service the upper level, ensuring all visitors can easily enjoy the hotel’s facilities.
Outside, a brand-new courtyard has taken shape, creating an inviting open-air space set to become a popular spot for dining and socialising. Inside, the gaming area has been completely reimagined, featuring a new dedicated entrance and a stylish bar, designed to offer a more seamless and enjoyable experience for patrons.

The hotel’s bottle shop has also received a significant upgrade and now operates as a dual-lane drive-through, improving convenience for customers and catering to increased demand.
Meanwhile, the pub kitchen has been fully renovated, laying the groundwork for a fresh food offering that aims to position the Kincraig as a key dining destination in the region.
On socials the Kincraig Hotel shared a video of some of the completed work.
“As we get closer to finally opening, keep an eye on our socials for more updates,” they shared.
“We are now into the final stages of this renovation and we so excited to have more news on our offical re-opening for you all soon.”
These updates build on the broader overhaul that has been underway since late 2024, when the Dean Group committed to a full interior rebuild. From new furnishings and redesigned public spaces to function areas and family-friendly features, the hotel has effectively been transformed from the ground up.

The group, known for venues such as the Largs Pier Hotel, Walkers Arms Hotel and Peninsula Hotel Motel, has brought its signature approach to hospitality to the project, with a strong focus on quality, comfort and community connection.
With much of the heavy lifting now complete, excitement is building across Naracoorte as locals and visitors alike look forward to the return of the Kincraig Hotel.
Set to become a vibrant hub for food, drink and accommodation in Naracoorte, the reopening will mark the beginning of a new chapter for the historic venue, blending its rich past with a fresh, modern identity.
