National Bandanna Day 2014: Be A Champion For CanTeen

CanTeen’s annual fundraising and awareness campaign, National Bandanna Day, is set to take place once again on Friday, October 31th

bandannaCanTeen’s annual fundraising and awareness campaign, National Bandanna Day, is set to take place once again on Friday, October 31. This year marks 20 years of National Bandanna Day and asks South Australians to ‘Dare to be Brave’.

Every day, 5 young South Australians aged 12-24 have cancer enter their lives, whether it’s their own diagnosis or their parent, brother or sister.

Dare to be Brave reflects the courageousness that young people affected by cancer show every day of their lives. CanTeen is asking the public to set themselves or someone else a dare to celebrate bravery.

Amelie Peters, 18, has had no choice but to be brave after Dad, Simon, was diagnosed earlier this year with stage 4 thyroid cancer. The University of Adelaide student and now CanTeen advocate encourages you to share in her braveness and has a dare for you…

You can help CanTeen reach young people that might need support, just like Amelie.

To help promote National Bandanna Day, Amelie and the CanTeen team simply dare you to post a selfie via social media of you sporting your CanTeen bandanna and include the wording – “ This National Bandanna Day, I’m helping the 5 young people affected by cancer everyday in SA know they aren’t alone – CanTeen can help, visit canteen.org.au #DaretobeBrave”

Simple as pie!

You can connect with CanTeen on Facebook, Twitter and on their website.
