With a trifecta of awards received at the SA Restaurant and Catering Awards on 27 July (Best Function Venue, Best Wedding Caterer and Caterer of the Year) the desirability level for people wanting to dine at the National Wine Centre has risen tenfold.
However, unless you’re lucky enough to be an invited function guest, the opportunity remains at arms length.
All that’s about to change with the National Wine Centre announcing a series of wine dinners commencing 11th August with the feature wine being Woodstock of McLaren Vale. The series of four events continues with Wynns of Coonawarra – 25th August; Saltram of Barossa – 8th September and Coriole of McLaren Vale – 29th September.
Each event costing just $70*will include a four course meal with food matchings created by executive chef Philip Pope. (*Saltram event is $80).
Adrian Emeny, General Manager, National Wine Centre said “whilst we have the Concourse Cafe available to the public, we are often asked by people who have either never dined here – or who have attended a function and want to return, if we have a dining experience available to the general public – a wine dinner of course has a great synergy with what we are all about”
“With the National Wine Centre being such a popular function venue, setting aside a series consecutive of dates has been a challenge – even now, we’ve struggled to find a series of four clear fortnights hence the three week gap in September but as we’re heading toward our busiest season, it was now or next year” he said.
The menu for the Woodstock Wine Dinner at the National Wine Centre on 11th August is:
Canapé
2010 Woodstock Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc
Woodstock’s Turkey & Muscat Pate, Olive Toasts, Apple & Cranberry Paste.
