The National wine Centre (NWC) has won the Tourism and Regional Promotion Award at The Australian Hotel Association (AHA) Industry Awards for Excellence, held at the Entertainment Centre on July 28.
The NWC has made significant investment in its tourism offering of late with the installation of 14 Enomatic ‘wine by the glass’ machines, a revamp of its Wine Discovery Journey and the establishment of the highly successful Winter Food and Wine Festival.
NWC General Manager Adrian Emeny said the award was especially pleasing given the roll out and significant investment of highly strategic and targeted tourism related projects.
“There is no doubt the Centre has had a huge year as far as attracting tourists and increasing its offering to the general community. There really is something for everyone now and it is one of the best places in Australia to come and visit and learn about our wonderful wine culture in Australia,” he said.
“The Enomatic Machines have been a huge success story and to attract more than 1600 visitors to our inaugural Winter Food and Wine Festival in 2014 was nothing short of amazing.”
The Centre boasts a dedicated team who tirelessly work to make the Centre a destination of choice for tourists and local alike.
“We are constantly pushing the boundaries in regard to attracting more visitors and we will continue to innovative in this area,” Mr Emeny said.
“We have plenty of exciting initiatives coming up including the second Winter Food and Wine Festival and we are expecting to keep seeing thousands come through our doors moving into the latter half of the year.”
