Native Australian Ingredients Take The Forefront At Culshaw’s Restaurant

Culshaw’s Restaurant has produced a menu that showcases the best of bush ingredients, available in the inner city.

Having opened in 2004, the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel boasts one of Adelaide’s best restaurants in the vein of Australian dining. Culshaw’s Restaurant has produced a menu that showcases the best of bush ingredients, available in the inner city.

Head Chef, Matthew Inkley and his team describe Culshaw’s as a trip to the bush for international visitors and locals alike. A recent winner of the Restaurant & Catering Association Awards for best restaurant in a hotel, the location offers an interesting mix of native ingredients in classic dishes.

Matthew began the reintegration of native ingredients to Culshaw’s rotating dishes when he started working there in an attempt to dabble with difficult and often overlooked ingredients.

However, his recipes aren’t concocted just for the novelty of having a specialised ingredient to showcase. Matthew states that his objective is to provide food that values honesty above all else. It’s all about how delicious the food turns out to be.

Paroo Kangaroo with heirloom tomato tarte tatin, woodside chèvre caramelised shallots with grilled asparagus and spinach purée is an example of the carefully constructed dishes that Matthew is serving at Culshaw’s.

Culshaw’s Sweet & Sour Crocodile Ribs

Australian Barramundi, Crocodile Ribs and Tarte Tatin are just some ingredients you can expect when looking at the Culshaw’s à la carte menu.

A set menu for $50 p/p offers a drink upon arrival, Australian Whip Stick Wattle Seed Damper and the ‘Hop, Snap and Swim’ option that samples Culshaw’s signature dishes, as mentioned above.

A menu fit for all Australians alike with inclusivity as a focus, gluten free and vegetarian visitors won’t have to miss out on the specialised dishes.

Bush ingredients in a fine dining setting is what Culshaw promises, not only to visitors but to their producers who are prominent South Australian businesses. Some of which include Beerenberg, Nippy’s, Say Cheese and more.

Culshaw’s is located on the ground floor of the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel, a small walk away from Rundle Street and open from Monday to Saturday. A location to try when a craving for authentic Aussie cuisine arises.
