Nature Festival blooms again for another year of inspiring festivities

Set to kick off in September this year, the festival returns for two weeks and with hundreds of events, it will give you the perfect Spring reset as we roll into the end of the year.

It is not far-fetched to say that nature and all its phenomenons are at the heart of South Australia’s identity. With a city comfortably surrounded by gorgeous parklands, the River Torrens that runs through Adelaide, and of course, our world-renowned and award winning beaches – we take pride in the gifts mother nature has given us.

It is then, only fair, that we celebrate this land with local artists, nature walks and workshops in abundance. Fortunately, the upcoming Nature Festival is here to do just that! Set to kick off in September this year, the festival returns for two weeks and with hundreds of events, it will give you the perfect Spring reset as we roll into the end of the year.

In a time of uncertainty about how our environment will look in the not-so-distant future – Nature Festivals’ important message and goal is gladly welcomed. Addressing worries of climate change, bushfires, and the consequences of the global pandemic, the festival will aim to create and facilitate conversations on how to “cultivate a deeper relationship with nature as a society”. Not only on a larger scale, but further as an individual, the program will provide experiences and activities to learn how you can help in conserving our lands for a better future.

Running through September 28th to October 13th, the Nature Festival will bring communities together to celebrate our gorgeous environments with “positive, creative approaches”. And at the heart of all these activities, are important conversations and activities exploring the continued conservation of our sacred sites – as we learn how to better take care of the natural world that surrounds us.

But it won’t all be educational – because the Nature Festival also promises to honour our greenery and waters with fantastic celebrations, from music to installations and even film festivals. It is a moment of teaching, but also festivities, as we come together to explore the inner workings of nature in South Australia.

Boasting a program with over 400+ events, the Nature Festival is sure to offer something for everyone, including adults, children, and families alike. The events and activities showcased will celebrate our relationships with each other and “everyday nature”, asking the important questions about our “cultural narrative”.

As a collaborative effort between dozens of “organisations, artists, and community members” who will host and present these offered events, Nature Festival is not only a time to celebrate our thriving environments – but also to band together as a singular body and support each other through these conversations. The Nature Festival is a glowing example of what can come from community-focused programs with the right messages and heart.

Keep an eye on their website as the program will be announced in the coming week. Find out more here.
