Netball SA, in partnership with Veterans SA, the RSL and the SA Community Football League, is pleased to announce the establishment of ten (10) new Netball medals to be presented to the best-on-court player in Anzac Day matches across the state.
Medals have also been struck for ten (10) Anzac Day football matches across SA.
The following ten leagues will participate:

Nursing Sister born at Moonta served in WW2 was killed alongside the other Bangka Day nurses when the Japanese bombed the boat she was on.

Sister Casson was born in Willistown and served as a nurse in WW2 she was one of the nurses massacred at Banka Island in 1942

Lucy was born in Shea Oak Log near Gawler she left for the AIF with the first ANZACs and served in Cairo, France and England.

Mrs Ruth Kitto was a Lieutenant in the Army with the 2/7 Australian General Hospital and saw service overseas including PNG.

North Eastern ANZAC Day Netball Game
Martha Bidmead was a Nursing Sister who was appointed to the Nursing staff at Burra Burra District Hospital in 1898 after which she served in the war in South Africa.

River Murray ANZAC Day Netball Game
May Mills was a teacher, land owner and local identity, she managed a property on Shepherds Hill Rd as well as serving on the National Women’s Council. She was also instrumental in the development of the Women’s Memorial Playing Fields, she was awarded an OBE in 1960.

J P Woods was born in Gawler and was awarded the VC for conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty near Le Verguier, north-west of St. Quentin, on the 18th September, 1918
