If you’ve strolled past Wright Street, Adelaide lately, you might’ve noticed a bit more noise, construction fencing, excavators, and a lot more high-vis. It’s the beginning of something big.
It’s the location of where the brand new Oakwood Premier hotel is starting take shape, bringing exceptional accommodation and luxury to the city’s south.
It’s still early days, but the vision is bold.
Once complete, the site will be home to a 17-storey hotel. Designer rooms, a rooftop bar, a restaurant with views, a ground-level lounge and an in-house gym.
The project is expected to be finished by May 2027, and while that might feel a long way off, construction is well underway.
And here’s the interesting bit—rather than wiping the site clean, developers are working the original heritage façade into the final design.
It’s a nod to the past while aiming for something that feels sharp, modern and unmistakably Adelaide.

What’s planned inside isn’t your standard accommodation either.
The guest experience is being shaped around comfort and style, with private dining options and curated touches throughout.
This won’t just another place to crash after a long flight.

The location also makes a lot of sense. A short walk from medical centres, city business headquarters and some of the city’s most-visited spots, it’s right in the thick of things without being caught up in the noise of the main roads through the CBD.
Although there are still a couple of years to wait before bookings open, this project is already drawing a lot of attention.
Not just for the scale, but for the way it’s blending something old with something new—and doing it on a street that’s quietly become one to watch.
If the early plans are anything to go by, this one’s going to be worth the wait.
