New $180 Million Hyatt Regency Hotel Coming To Adelaide

Expected to open in eary 2023, the Hyatt Regency will be returning to Adelaide.

Filling the gap when it comes to 5-star hotel accommodation options, the Hyatt Regency will be returning to Adelaide.

With construction planned to commence early next year, Hyatt Regency Adelaide is expected to open in early 2023.

“We are grateful to work with CES Pirie Hotel on the opening of the new Hyatt Regency Adelaide and are excited to bring the Hyatt Regency brand, which has a strong legacy and following, back to this vibrant city,” said David Udell, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt.

“Located in Adelaide’s city center, the hotel will provide guests with the tools to stay connected and benefit from the hotel’s intuitive and personalized service.”

Hyatt Regency Adelaide will be located on Pirie Street in the center of the city’s central business district, giving guests unparalleled access to major corporate and government offices as well as shopping and dining venues.

When completed, the hotel will offer facilities including more than 8,000 square feet (750 square meters) of event space, a Market Café, a Regency Club, swimming pool, fitness facilities and a rooftop bar.

The design features will provide a unique visual character for the hotel, which will add a crystalline jewel appearance to Adelaide’s skyline.

“The new 28-storey tower is designed with a veil of external solar shades to protect guests’ from the occasionally harsh and intense sun that can occur during Adelaide summers,” said Michael Hegarty of GHDWoodhead, the architecture company behind the design.

“Our shading structure still allows winter sunshine to penetrate and provide passive heating in the cooler months,” added Michael.

The Hyatt Regency Hotel will add another boost to the ongoing growth in Adelaide’s tourism industry and is set to substantially increase street activation for extended periods of the day and throughout the year with a new café-bar that will completely open up onto the street.
