New Adelaide clinic integrates skin cancer detection with advanced laser aesthetic and hair regrowth treatments

Dr. Jag Aesthetics and Hair Regrow Therapies in Adelaide integrates advanced laser technologies for skin cancer detection, aesthetic treatments, and hair regrowth.

Adelaide’s new medical clinic, Dr Jag Aesthetics and Hair Regrow Therapies, provides services in skin cancer detection, skin care, and hair regrowth treatments. The clinic uses advanced technology designed to support both medical assessments and aesthetic procedures.

Dr Jag (MBBS, MRCGP UK, FRACGP), the founder and Medical Director, said, “The clinic has been designed with the Australian climate in mind. Prolonged sun exposure can contribute to skin changes, some of which may require medical assessment. By using advanced imaging and laser technology, our goal is to support early detection and provide a range of treatment options.”

Over the past six years, Dr Jag has worked extensively in skin cancer detection. He notes that detailed assessment and early identification of subtle skin changes are an important part of patient care. Many of his patients also experience visible effects of sun exposure, including pigmentation, wrinkles, and other skin changes.

Some patients expressed concerns about skin cancer and the visible effects of sun exposure, including pigmentation, wrinkles, and certain pre-cancerous changes. While some did not initially raise these concerns, over time, discussions included possible treatment options.

Dr Jag observed that these concerns may extend beyond appearance, as some skin changes can have medical relevance. This led him to undertake additional training in advanced laser treatments and laser-assisted photodynamic therapy, aiming to provide patients with both preventive care and aesthetic options.

At the new clinic, Dr Jag and the team are introducing what they believe to be South Australia’s first Alma IQ, a high-resolution imaging system that analyses skin in real time, capturing layers not visible to the naked eye. It records details such as skin texture, fine lines, pigmentation, and sun damage, and can be used on the neck and décolletage. The system supports consultations by providing visual references and assisting in monitoring skin over time.

Dr Jag Aesthetics & Hair Regrow Therapies is also among the first clinics in Australia to use the upgraded Alma Harmony laser platform. This technology is designed for the treatment of scars, pigmentation, and other skin concerns, and works by stimulating collagen production, which plays a role in skin health. The clinic has also introduced Alma Hybrid CO₂ laser resurfacing, which can be used in the management of certain pre-cancerous lesions, surgical scars, stretch marks, and visible signs of skin ageing.

Skin cancer remains a key focus for Dr Jag’s clinic, which provides skin cancer checks using video dermatoscopy, a method that allows for detailed examination and ongoing monitoring to support early detection and management.

The clinic also offers services for hair loss, incorporating AI-based systems. The Hair Metrix platform provides detailed assessments of hair and scalp health, recording factors such as hair thickness, follicle density in areas of thinning, and changes over time.
