New Asian street food festival set to hit the CBD

This brand-new festival will showcase the best of Asian street food over three days this December to experience the best of Asian culture.

There’s a reason the rich, bold flavours of Asian food are some of the most popular in the world. Renowned around the world for having some of the best street food on the planet, it’s the delicate blend of fresh herbs and notable spices that allow each region to give them its own unique flair and express itself through the art of cooking.

For three days, you’ll be able to experience the best of Asian street food right here in Adelaide at the inaugural Asia Street Food Festival (ASFF). Held on the banks of the Torrens, you’ll instantly be transported to the streets of South East Asia as you approach Pinky Flat, with the delicious smells wafting through the CBD enticing passers-by.

Once you enter, the Bali huts and strings of lanterns will set the scene as you meander through the many stalls deciding what it is you want to try first.

As you wander, you’ll notice that all of the stall holders are dressed in traditional outfits from their country, an element that the organisers wanted to implement to encourage education around Asian culture that is more than just around the culinary.

You’ll find traditional dishes from Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand as well as be introduced to popular Asian fruits such as mangosteen and the notorious durian – if you can handle the smell.

It wouldn’t be the streets of Asia without plenty of entertainment so make sure you don’t miss Australia’s biggest K-POP dance crew, ABK Crew, who will bring fun and music to the festival. With over 438,000 subscribers, you’ll be able to experience first-hand why these guys are so popular.

The event is free to enter however those who register online to attend by November 30th will go in the draw to win a $100 voucher to spend throughout the duration of the festival!

Please be aware that this event is entirely cashless so there’s no need to hunt down an ATM before you come.

When: Friday 16 – Sunday 18 December
