Bakery Bags tempt travellers to explore more of regional SA

New bakery bags are dropping state-wide over the coming weeks to inspire visitors to explore more of regional SA.

Road trips across South Australia have gotten sweeter, as the new bakery bag initiative that dropped state-wide has been inspiring visitors to explore more of regional SA.

More than 50 bakeries across 10 South Australian tourism regions have been serving up their pastries in bakery bags as part of an ongoing road trips marketing campaign by the South Australian Tourism Commission.

“We all love a bakery stop, and what better way to discover the incredible road trip routes and iconic destinations regional South Australia has to offer than while enjoying a treat from one of our state’s many delicious bakeries,” Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison says.

“Visitor expenditure in regional South Australia has reached a record-high $4.7 billion, with 10 of the 11 tourism regions already surpassing their 2025 targets. [The bakery bags are] another way we are showing visitors how they can make the most of our state’s diverse regions with a road trip everyone will love while supporting regional South Australian businesses.”

The bags have featured along popular road trip routes and iconic destinations across the state, including the beautiful Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula, Barossa, and Murray River, Lakes & Coorong not far from Adelaide.

It encourages potential road trippers to visit Road Trips, Itineraries & Scenic Drives | South Australia for holiday inspiration as well as maps and itineraries of the state’s six iconic road trips which highlight the best of South Australia and suggest local products and experiences.

Road trips include the Mighty Murray Way, Epicurean Way, Seafood Frontier, Explorers Way, Coastal Way, and Southern Ocean Drive.

The creative marketing initiative aims to promote the scenic drives on offer across regional South Australia and further drive visitation and expenditure to local businesses.

This delightful initiative combines the pleasures of travel and gastronomy, enticing visitors to hit the road and explore the diverse landscapes and culinary delights that South Australia has to offer.

The bakery bags are adorned with picturesque imagery of South Australia’s breathtaking regions, tempting travellers to embark on unforgettable journeys.

The Uraidla Hotel and Uraidla Republic Café, Bakery & Brewery is just one of the fantastic locations handing out the Bakery Bags, filled with fresh goods.

“We’ll be filling our new bakery bags with delicious, fresh, home-spun breads, pastries, and our take on the typically-Aussie hot goods such as meat pies, sausage rolls and pasties – including vegan options.”
