A new, boutique-scale apartment building is being developed, set to shake up the residential market along the thriving business hub of Unley Road. Currently unnamed, the 5 story structure located just 2km from the CBD will feature a range of residential apartments and facilities.
Heading this project is Samaras Construction and Developments. The leading property developers and structural steel fabricators are renowned for their multi-disciplinary commercial and industrial developments, such as the Adelaide Convention Centre, Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, and One Central Park Sydney.
Earlier in 2024, plans proposed by Samaras were green lit for a 13-story hotel at 15-19 Halifax Street in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD. This groundbreaking project is a collaboration between South Australian property titan, Samaras Group, and the environmentally conscious hotel chain, Crystalbrook Collection Hotels & Resorts.
Previously a Wilson car park, the site was acquired by Samaras in 2021 and is set to feature 206 rooms, conference rooms, a pool and fitness centre, and a hotel-operated restaurant, and is expected to be completed by 2026. Construction began in late July.
Stallard Meek Flightpath Architects (SMFA) have been hired by Samaras to design the upcoming Unley Road structure. Renowned throughout South Australia, the company prides itself on their expertise in architecture, heritage preservation, interior design, and landscape architecture.
As the Samaras-headed project is still in its early days, up-to-date details are currently sparse, but there will be more information revealed soon as project progresses.
This project joins the list of exciting developments coming to Unley Road, with the highly anticipated Unley Central project due to transform the strip after a decade of planning. The new precinct will have six cinemas, cafes, wellness centres, medical services, and supermarkets – as well as 130 brand-new apartments. It will be South Australia’s first integrated mixed-use development on a single site… a ‘vertical precinct’.
