Eyre Peninsula

New brand EP Spirits launching with first-ever gin

EP Sprits’ first gin, which has been depicted as the Eyre Peninsula in a bottle, is launching alongside its new company at a release party on April 10.

EP Spirits seeks to embody the Eyre Peninsula with their debut gin, the Trailblazer.

“The flavour profile represents the Eyre Peninsula, and it’s smooth like the region’s relaxed, laid back feel,” says Kyle Ralston, EP Spirits co-founder.

“The initial peppery taste is the arid land, the juniper and earthy flavours are the scrub, and it finishes off with river mint and desert lime––creating a menthol, palette-cleansing effect that reminds us of the area’s crystal waters.”

The branding is also EP-centric, with a compass to represent the nautical and fishing-heavy history of the region.

EP Sprits’ first gin, which has been depicted as the Eyre Peninsula in a bottle, is launching alongside its new company at a release party on April 10.

The event will take place at 1802 Oyster bar and run from 6pm until late. Guests will get a complimentary gin drink on arrival, plenty of finger food prepared by chef Andy Williams, live music all night, and special launch party discounts on E.P Spirits products. Port Lincoln residents can also opt to take a shuttle to the Coffin Bay launch if they don’t want to find a designated driver.

The Trailblazer is aptly named not only because it’s forging a path for other releases to come, but also because this is Ralston and co-founder Dylan Puckridge’s first business venture. The pair met while working in hospitality in Port Lincoln, and they formed a friendship around their passion for spirits.

“We both have a passion for drinks and spirits and different flavors, so it was an easy decision to start a business together,” Ralston says.

Following the launch of their first gin, Ralston, a 32-year-old originally from England, and Puckridge, a 21-year-old Port Lincoln native, have plans to produce additional spirits––such as whisky and vodka––and to collab with local wineries.

Prior to the April 10 launch, look out for the Trailblazer on their website and local stockists. Tickets for the party event cost $45, and coach tickets cost $25.
