New Brazilian-Adelaidean jewellery brand, BC&Co, launches today

Co-owners Bianca Henrique and Camila Machado say BC&Co will produce jewellery collections inspired by the seasons, using Brazilian gemstones.

Alongside the Amazon Rainforest, kaleidoscopic carnivals and soccer stars, Brazil is also known for its abundance of precious gemstones and flair for high-end jewellery.

Brazil has birthed many extraordinary jewellery designers such as Fernando Jorge, Silvia Furmanovich and Hueb, all of whom produce collections rich with creativity and symbolism.

Now, a new Brazilian jewellery line is coming to Adelaide, called BC&Co.

Friends and business partners, Bianca Henrique and Camila Machado, both immigrated from Brazil to Australia 3 years ago and five years ago, respectively.

After years of compliments about their unique Brazilian jewellery, they finally decided to create their own line, with their website launching today.

Bianca and Camila say Brazil has a larger range of rare and coloured stones, such as tourmaline, that make Brazilian jewellery stand out from the rest.

“There’s a lot of different stones in Brazil that you can’t find here! Also, because of Brazil’s different culture, designs of the jewellery are different too,” says Camila.

“Our jewellery is 18K gold and anti-allergenic, with stones sourced from Brazil,” says Bianca. “We’ve made 100 pieces to start with, because we don’t know what people are going to like yet.”

Bianca and Camila intend to release collections inspired by the seasons.

“The colours change from season to season. There are a few stones that can be found easily depending on the season,” says Camila.

“We’re currently working with tourmaline, zirconia, and crystals. The range of colours in Brazil is huge! We plan on bringing different colours and designs every season. It’s important to us to keep bringing something new.”

But at the crux of it, Bianca and Camila hope to demonstrate the power women have when they work together.

“BC&C is much more than jewellery. It’s the idea of two women, two friends, and working together. Women lifting women. That’s exactly what we want to represent and bring to the market,” says Camila.

“BC&Co believes that life is better when we have someone to share moments with and to walk by our side.”

The jewellery brand will be elegant and delicate necklaces, bracelets, earrings, trios, and sets – all of which can be incorporated into your daily style or worn for special occasions.
