New Brighton beachfront kiosk given the green light

A new kiosk has been approved by the Holdfast Bay Council with a new indoor and outdoor eatery with the build due to commence in 2023.

After years of lobbying, plans for a new kiosk at Kingston Park have finally been approved.

Featuring indoor and outdoor dining as well as takeaway, the $1million dollar project will be constructed along the edge of the coastal path within the Brighton Beachfront Holiday Park.

The kiosk will be integrated into the caravan park and landscaping with two sites from the caravan park being removed to make way for the new building. The car park will remain as is.

The project was given the green light after elected members endorsed the design and approved construction at a recent Holdfast Bay Council meeting with the build expected to commence in 2023.

Mayor Amanda Wilson is thrilled with this exciting new development for Holdfast Bay.

“For years, the residents of Kingston Park have campaigned for a kiosk that will serve their local community,” Mayor Wilson said.

“And after years of consultation with Kaurna and the residents, plans have been approved for this permanent addition to the area.

“The views from this location are magnificent and this new building and kiosk are going to be a great asset to the area and to Holdfast Bay as a whole.”

The new building includes indoor dining for 40 patrons, a shaded outdoor area of 42 seats a takeaway servery and ambulant and disabled toilets.

Many locals have expressed their excitement over the new project with the prime location crying out to be put to good use.

The kiosk is set to be open for business by next year.
