From the team that brought you Udder Delights, this brand new venue in the Adelaide Hills, Grünthal Brew, has opened its doors to the public and has already made quite a name for itself.
More than just a brewery or a cellar door, Grünthal Brew is a tourist destination!
A foodie’s hub that is home to a smorgasbord of products including craft beer, gin, cheese, wine and amazing food, most of which are created onsite at their stunning location.
Sitting just off the freeway in Verdun, you can knock back pints and taste unique cheeses while overlooking the Onkaparinga river and all the beauty that is the Adelaide Hills.
A place for everyone, the focus here is to come and enjoy yourself. “Fun is our driving factor” says owner Sheree. “That’s why we did this. We want to have fun with it and we want everyone that here to have fun too”.
But fun aside, there’s of course the produce. Grünthal Brew has developed their own range of alcoholic beverages that will surprise and delight bevi drinkers and take it from us, the Hot Pink Gin is a winner.

Accompanying the gin and craft brews available at the location is an amazing array of wholesome food choices that will surprise and delight anyone visiting the location.
The talented Grünthal kitchen team includes Head Chef Jon and Sous Chef Ricky who work their magic to develop culinary creations for visitors.
Creating dishes with a focus on casual modern Australian dining, Adelaide Hills produce and products will be the hero of the dishes, showcasing just how privileged we are to be surrounded by the great South Australian growing regions.
You’ll find lobster brioche, truffle fries and pizzas made in their own way, gracing the menu with their presence.
One of the highlights of the destination is The Hesketh Wines cellar door which showcases the winery’s regional selections range including Adelaide Hills varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Nebbiolo Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc and a vintage Methode Champenoise Sparkling.
The Grünthal Brew concept was developed by Sheree and Saul Sullivan, best known for their success as cheesemakers through their business Udder Delights.

The husband and wife team are excited to be venturing into the world of brewing after selling the majority of their business back in 2017 and have big plans for the large property. “We have a really big picture in mind,” says Sheree. “There’s so much we want to do with the space but for the moment we’re focusing on getting the foundations right”
And while you’re here, of course, you can take home a piece of the magic from the Providore on site. Selling an array of goods from Udder Delights cheeses to biccies and deli meats, there’s no shortage of delicious wares to create your own smorgasbord at home. The helpful team can even pair your choice of Hesketh Wines with a cheese tasting tile for the full tasting experience.
There’s no need to need to book when you visit Grünthal Brew, you are more than welcome to just pop into the cellar door on your own accord! The casual and large layout means there’s always room for everyone.
“We wanted it to be casual, family-friendly and something for everyone” says Sheree, and that’s exactly what they’ve done.

Grünthal Brew is located at 827 Mt Barker Road, Verdun, 5245
