New bubble tea store Xing Fu Tango opens in CBD

Adelaide has welcomed a new addition to its vibrant food scene with the opening of Xing Fu Tang, a bubble tea store that promises an authentic taste of Taiwan.

Adelaide has welcomed a new addition to its vibrant food scene with the opening of Xing Fu Tang, a bubble tea store that promises an authentic taste of Taiwan. Situated at 7-19 Gawler Place, the store celebrated its grand opening on the 14th of March, inviting the public to indulge in its array of bubble tea delights.

Bubble tea, a beverage that originated in Taiwan during the 1980s, has since captivated the taste buds of people worldwide. Characterised by its signature tapioca pearls, or ‘boba’, and a wide variety of flavours ranging from milk teas to fruit-infused drinks, bubble tea offers a unique blend of textures and tastes. Xing Fu Tang, staying true to the roots of this beloved drink, specialises in handcrafted brown sugar boba, bringing a piece of Taiwanese culinary tradition to Adelaide.

A standout feature of Xing Fu Tang is its open kitchen, where customers can witness the meticulous process of making boba pearls from scratch. This process involves mixing tapioca starch with water and brown sugar, kneading it into a dough, and then shaping the dough into small balls. These pearls are then boiled and simmered in a caramelised brown sugar syrup, giving them their distinctive sweet flavour and chewy texture. By showcasing this process, Xing Fu Tang not only ensures transparency but also enhances the customer experience by allowing them to see the craftsmanship that goes into their drink.

In addition to its traditional offerings, Xing Fu Tang is innovating the bubble tea experience with its DIY kits. These kits, suitable for both adults and children, contain all the essentials for making bubble tea at home, offering a fun and engaging activity for any time. With four different flavours available, each kit serves five, providing a cost-effective alternative to buying individual drinks. These kits can be purchased in-store or online, with the option for home delivery.

Beyond bubble tea, Xing Fu Tang’s menu features a variety of other treats, including croissants topped with special biscoff sauce or brown sugar boba, boba soft serves, and multiple flavours of yoghurt.

Xing Fu Tang is open from Sunday to Wednesday between 11am and 8:30pm, and from Thursday to Saturday between 11am and 10pm. This new establishment is set to become a favourite among Adelaide’s bubble tea enthusiasts, offering a genuine taste of Taiwan along with a peek into the art of boba making.
