Nathaniel’s Coffee and Panini is the latest arrival on the café scene in St Peters, slinging strong coffees and authentic Italian paninis daily.

Nathaniel’s Coffee and Panini has been brought to life by owner Nathaniel Praino, who has dreamt of this moment for over 10 years.

Sure, Nathaniel’s dream didn’t exactly involve his cafe’s grand opening being shrouded in pandemic restrictions but that hasn’t stopped him from just going for it.

Nathaniel brings with him a fiery passion to make the perfect coffee, having worked as a barista for over 15 years. The coffee beans needed to make this perfect coffee will be supplied by Adelaide’s own, Tony D’Angelo.

Having worked in hospitality for so long, Nathanial understands the importance of supporting local businesses in his venture.

“I think it’s important to support local businesses as much as I can. I’m really proud of the suppliers I use which include Dough bakery, Nino’s Smallgoods, Fleurieu Milk and my sister Eloise Praino who makes most of my sweets,” Praino said.

Now, the part you’ve all been waiting for, the glorious paninis.

Why paninis you may ask?

Nathaniel says paninis have “always been a quintessential staple lunch growing up in an Italian household. Through my shop, I just want to share my love for a good panini and a great espresso.”

We asked Nathaniel for an insider tip on his favourite item on the menu, and like a parent who can’t pick a favourite child, he wants to assure you that everything is delicious.

But if it really came down to it, his soft spot lies with a panini named after his father – #3 The Lucio.

The Lucio is simple, but full of flavour, filled with melenzane, artichoke, mortadella and provoletta.

Once restrictions lift, Nathaniel also plans to operate a changing pop-up space called the Little Shot Next Door, which is attached to the café.

Good news for emergency services workers – Nathaniel’s is offering 15% off purchases as a thank you for your hard work.

So, make your way down this week to the little taste of Italy that awaits in St Peters.

You can find Nathaniel’s at 199 Payneham Rd, St Peters.
