NEW CELLAR DOOR! Adelaide Hills’ Maximilian’s Welcomes Saint & Scholar

Founded in 2016, Saint and Scholar has experienced great success and is cementing the label’s future in undertaking this major new venture.

Saint and Scholar wines have quickly grown into an exciting part of the flourishing Adelaide Hills wine scene. Now the company will be laying down more local roots with the opening of a new cellar door at reputable Hills icon Maximilian’s.

Founded in 2016, Saint and Scholar has experienced great success and is cementing the label’s future in undertaking this major new venture.

Maximilian’s Owner Andrew Friebe says, “Maximilian’s is excited to welcome Saint and Scholar as our new Cellar Door partner and look forward to this new chapter for what is a legendary Adelaide Hills venue”.

“The opening of Saint and Scholar’s cellar door will affirm Max’s place as a leader of hospitality experiences within the Adelaide Hills region.”

Saint and Scholar wines is a passion project for winemakers Stephen Dew and Reid Bosward (the eponymous Saint and Scholar). The wines are produced from grapes grown in the Adelaide Hills near Gumeracha’s Big Rocking Horse.

Dew and Bosward utilise their decades of winemaking experience with new techniques to produce fresh and dynamic young wines. Dew, our Saint has completed Vintages at Domaine Prieure Roch in Burgundy to further his natural winemaking understanding and skills, which he then translates to Saint & Scholar.

The label produces a range of six varietals and is launching two reserve tiers – the Honour and Masters series – plus a sparkling.

Head Winemaker at Saint and Scholar Stephen Dew says, “with the expansion of our range, there is no better time to establish a home at such a celebrated venue”.

“It is an exciting time for us and the Adelaide Hills Wine Region and this partnership with Maximilian’s complements that”.

“At Saint and Scholar, we are delighted with the quality of our fresh, original wines and the public’s enthusiasm for them.”

Reid is equally as excited with this new venture, “Our new cellar door at Maximilian’s will showcase our label to a broad range of wine enthusiasts whilst enjoying the Adelaide Hills ambience”.

“Maximilian’s is so representative of the very best Adelaide Hills hospitality – a superb restaurant showcasing local produce, vineyard views, open fires and the famous golf challenge”.

“The team at Saint and Scholar look forward to this new partnership which will provide a lively, unique and impressive experience for our customers”.

Saint and Scholar’s Cellar door is scheduled to open October 3.

Maximilian’s can be found at 15 Onkaparinga Valley Rd, Verdun SA.
