Whether you’re more of a “Miss Somebody” or a “Mr Nobody,” anybody who’s anybody will soon be flocking to the Clare Valley’s newest cellar door!
Mr Nobody has opened in Auburn with an old-fashioned fit out and a range of liqueurs and wines seeking to inspire a love of older varieties in a younger generation.
The new venue is the latest project from the Shut the Gate Wines crew, spearheaded by owners Rasa and Richard Woods.
Described as a “purveyor of strong wines and liqueurs,” the new cellar door (dubbed a doorway due to its small and intimate setting) aims to provide something different to wine drinkers. Serving up Australian fortified wine styles, a now-rare variety once popular throughout the country, Mr Nobody aims to “present them as a discovery to a younger audience and a reminiscent for an older audience.”
Mr Nobody offers liqueur riesling, liqueur viognier, fortified shiraz, and “Miss Somebody” sparkling pinot chardonnay from their Clare Valley space, with tutored tastings available for $10 per head and redeemable on purchase. Their 2021 Vin Doux Naturel grenache will be released soon.
If you’re in the mood to experience not only a quaint new venue, but also a style of wines that may be new to you, check out Mr Nobody in the Clare Valley’s Auburn.
The Mr Nobody Cellar Door is currently open Thursday – Monday 11am – 5pm, and Friday 11am – 7pm.
