Ahoy, fellow Adelaidians. We have a celebration sailing your way that will be unlike the rest. This Sunday, there will be an unveiling of a cocktail menu that looks set to change the game of beverage selecting… at a third birthday. Think maps, poems, nautical characters and a whole lot of treasure. (We’re talking treasure in the form of sublime drinks, by the way).
After three years of sailing the high seas of Adelaide’s CBD, the guys at Hains & Co are here to hold a celebration built around releasing their long anticipated cocktail menu. Having spent six to nine months perfecting this menu, you can rest assured that it will be just as polished and exciting as ever.
Seperate from their other cocktail menus, this new menu will stand alone as it introduces the concept of giving thoughtful history and personality to each cocktail. Essentially, each cocktail is represented by characters in a nautical world. And if you love attention to detail, then you will love this.
Hains & Co have been working with graphic designers to truly personify each cocktail and their character counterparts. Without giving too much away, we can tell you that each character’s place of origin, upbringing, job and preferred flavours are moulded into gorgeous poems and displayed on a map of the fictional world. It will be hard not to be blown right into this carefully crafted world of truly magical drinks and service.
It should be said that if you are familiar with the crew down at Hains & Co, then you may well find yourself being able to decipher similarities between bartenders and the cocktail characters. We’ve been told that each character is loosely based on a fellow crew member. So be sure to shout Ahoy when you work it out!
