If you are unfamiliar with the name, The Caro Club is the brain child of Kyle and Tim, former My Kitchen Rules stars and their best mate Kain. Tim and Kyle rose to fame on the popular television show MKR as the bearded, beer loving boys representing South Australia. Whilst the boys didn’t take home the win, they proved themselves to be strong contenders, winning the hearts of viewers and reigniting their own passion for food. Recognising the huge marketing potential of the show they used this as a platform to kick off their culinary endeavours. Recruiting their mate Kain Slotegraaf, an established head chef who has cooked at likes of Bread & Bone, Orana, Shobosho and even the Mexican outpost of Noma, to join them. The Caro Club was founded in 2017 and born out of a desire to bring ‘dude food’ to the masses in a funky food truck medium.

The ethos from conception was all about offering tasty, wholesome, approachable food that people love to eat and share with family and friends. Turns out their customers also loved it with their humble food truck business quickly developed a following and the business expanding from there. Establishing roots within the Bowden Cellars at Plant 3 they spent three years serving succulent fried chicken and gourmet burgers before moving to their Edwardstown location. The boys had a short but sweet year stint at this venue bringing their cult following with them and embracing their values of “Good Food, Good Mood”.

The decision to close their Edwardstown venue was driven by the desire to scale back and refocus all of their attention into their food truck offering. Over the years the boys have spent 7 years in the truck, 3 years at Bowden and 1 year at Edwardstown with a pandemic in between and still managed to feed thousands of people at various events all over the state.

Whilst the Edwardstown community will sorely miss the boys, Tim says “The CAROCLUB brand will very much be living on, the truck will be the focus moving forward and hopefully you’ll see us more on the streets of Adelaide at events”.

The Caro Club will also continue to grow their catering leg of the business with the truck able to be booked for private events ranging from birthdays, engagements, corporate functions and Christmas shows.

So as one chapter closes, the Caro Club crew are excited for this next stage in their business journey. They look forward to coming full circle and bringing things back to where they started, their original love, the food truck. Serving tasty approachable foods that people love to eat all around Adelaide. So keep an eye out for them at events, follow their social media for updates and reach out for all your private function needs.
