Cheat days are the highlight of our lives, and if we’re honest, we may have them a little more often than we should (it’s not our fault there’s a cupcake shop right underneath our office!) When we heard of a restaurant whose sole purpose is to provide Adelaide with the most deliciously decadent cheat day meals, we might have drooled all over our keyboards.
The aptly named Cheat in Glenelg, which opened on 18 November, is full to the brim of all those foods we should avoid in everyday life, and the ones that make our cheat days so amazing. With a menu that allows you to have a little bit of everything on your cheat night, it’ll satisfy every damn craving you have.
Here’s the gist, basically, you head down to the super casual restaurant and order a choice (or ten, if you’re brave) from their huge tapas-style menu – think saucy buffalo wings (a highlight), mac and cheese, pork ribs, prawns, nachos, sliders and fries – all those foods that make your soul sing and your stomach wail. As you wait for your carb-lovin’ meal, you can enjoy looking at their street art and listening to their chilled electronic beats.
They also have a dessert menu, where for only $10 you’ll get 4 choices out of cookie dough, salted caramel tarts, Tim Tams, lemon tart, apple & berry slice… and even a spoonful of Nutella!
With drinks galore, you’ll be able to have a sneaky beer, wine or cider to help wash down all this soul food. They also have $15 cocktail jugs all week long – score!
Created by two Crossfit chicks who were in Struggletown every time they had to make a choice for what to eat on their cheat night because they wanted it all (we feel ya, ladies), it’s great for a Sunday sesh with a bucket of buffalo wings and a beer/cider while soaking up the sun on their balconies.
The best part?? As of the 18th they’re going to be open every. damn. night for the festive season, so if you want to turn your Christmas cheat day into a Christmas cheat week, these girls have your back.
