New housing development opens registrations in Noarlunga Downs

South Australians can now register to buy into a new 626-home development in Noarlunga Downs.

South Australians now have the opportunity to register their interest in a new housing development in Noarlunga Downs. This new development, located across two plots on either side of Lovelock Drive, spans 22 hectares and is set to include 626 homes.

The sales for these homes are expected to kick off in the upcoming weeks, starting with the western parcel where civil works have already begun under a $35 million contract with Winslow. This preparation will help the construction of the first batch of homes later in the year.

Individuals who register their interest early will get priority access to the properties as they become available. The first sales will feature both vacant lots and house and land packages, which include affordable housing options.

The estate will aim to provide diverse housing options like detached houses, townhouses, and apartments. In line with providing affordable housing solutions, 20 per cent of the housing will be made available under affordable housing schemes and other affordable rental options.

Working with the SA Housing Trust, the plan also includes the construction of 80 new public housing homes. The design of the development focuses on creating better connectivity and access to local infrastructure and services, and incorporates 12.5 per cent public open space and a substantial tree canopy.

Residents of the estate will also benefit from proximity to several key amenities. These include the Colonnades Shopping Centre, Noarlunga TAFE, Noarlunga Hospital, Flinders University Stadium, Noarlunga Train Station and numerous public transport connections.

The Government anticipates that the first residents will move into the estate next year, with the entire project expected to be completed by 2031.

Nick Champion MP, Minister for Housing and Urban Development shared, “Registrations of interest are now open on the highly anticipated Noarlunga development.

“There is limited housing availability in our southern suburbs and this development is ideally situated close to shops, services and key public transport links.

“Civil works are already underway with the first residents expected to move in next year.”
