Inspired by nostalgic 80s and 90s Tokyo, ChaCha Bar has recently opened its doors on South Terrace, unveiling an intimate atmosphere for Japanese food and drinks.
Nestled on the perimeter of the CBD and around the corner from Leisurely Coffee on Gilbert Street, is Adelaide’s newest Japanese tea room. Decorated with Japanese tokens and memorabilia, customers can enjoy cosy ambience, friendly service, and a feast of traditional Japanese offerings. Additionally, the availability of booths, tables, or bar seating provide alluring experiences for all occasions.
ChaCha’s kissaten (tea room) is described as a space for people to share in their love for art and culture whilst enjoying a unique selection of drinks and food. Diners can pick from a variety of traditional Japanese herbal and rice teas, such as sencha, genmaicha, and hojicha. Coffee, cocktails, beer, and a selection of wines from the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, and Barossa Valley are also available for your indulgence.
For lovers of Japanese food, ChaCha’s menu offers a mouth-watering range of snacks and sandwiches made with shokupan, a sweet milk-bread commonly sold in Japanese bakeries. Highlights from the menu include the bulgogi beef sandwich with apple, daikon kimchi, and swiss cheese, as well as a prawn katsu sandwich with wasabi mayo, rainbow cabbage, and chilli teriyaki sauce.
Snacks are also available include shichimi seasoned fries with gochujang mayo, or ajitsuke mushrooms with miso butter and cheese. Meanwhile, a dinner menu featuring vegan and vegetarian options is coming soon.
