Krondorf Wines opened a new sleek and stunning cellar door and wine bar in the heart of the bustling Barossa Valley in late December.

Krondorf Wines might have one of the newer Barossa Valley cellar doors, but the brand is certainly not new to the region.

With a history that can be traced back to the 1850s, and the brand being formally established in the 1960s, the high-end Tanunda cellar door is the latest chapter in Krondorf’s story.

It has a very luxe feel: think low light, premium decor, and bottles upon bottles of Krondorf’s many award-winning drops. The contemporary fit-out was designed by JBG architects, who transformed the bones of the historic flour mill into Barossa’s latest urban cellar door and bar.

Tony Ganzis, who manages the cellar door, said the development is a new venture for Krondorf, and is excited at a chance to elevate the brand.

“The new cellar door has a very high-end, premium look and feel,” Tony said.

“It has an inner-city, sleek wine bar vibe.”

It doesn’t stop at aesthetic, however, with a feature wall showcasing more of Krondorf’s golden history, including the time their 1979 Cabernet Sauvignon took out the esteemed Jimmy Watson trophy.

This allows guests to really immerse themselves in the history of Krondorf Wines.

“We are all about creating experiences and celebrating the history of our brand,” Tony said.

The sleek new cellar door launched quietly in late December, but we think this is the perfect excuse for a weekend away in the Barossa, now that the silly season has come to an end.

Krondorf has tasting options for connoisseurs and novices alike; with a combination of old favourites and some cellar door exclusives.

You might even fancy a charcuterie board or artisan pizza alongside your curated flight. Yum!

You can find Krondorf Wines’ new cellar door at 32-34 Murray Street, Tanunda.
