There’s plenty happening down at the Port these days. You’ve got Laneway Festival, Fork on the Road, Wonderwalls Festival, the Port Admiral Hotel revamp, and now, the opening of La Popular Taqueria – a Mexican eatery.
On Friday the doors finally flew open unleashing authentic handmade Mexican flavours to the people of Adelaide. But this isn’t just any Mexican restaurant. In conjunction with Renew Adelaide, La Popular Taqueria breathes new life into an old computer repair shop. Inside, a long bar borders the open kitchen, white-tiled walls and beautiful traditional Mexican decor lines the walls. Guevara’s has thought of everything, even including for those who are new to the taco experience with a ‘how to eat’ taco guide on the wall.
Owner and Chief Daniella Guevara’s has created a range of dishes to satisfy basically everyone, regardless your dietary requirements. Whether it is traditional a soft tortilla or a glass of Guevara’s iced hibiscus fresca, you will not be disappointed.

It is a slow process, we know. So, we decided to show impressions of Mexican scenes while we finish with the interior decor and fit out of La Popular Taqueria. If you are around in the Port come and take a look at this one that we hung on the window today. There are more in the making 😉 . . . #waitingfortacos #meanwhile #lapopulartaqueria #diorama #tacosadelaide #mexicanadelaide #portadelaide #ourportadl #renewadelaide #safood #openingsoon
