The Adelaide Convention Centre has partnered with the Australia Day Council to launch a new official Australia Day event – a sister event to Australia Day in the City- Parade, Concert and Fireworks held in Elder Park.

The Snazzy Sizzle, a gourmet buffet style BBQ followed by an Australia Day in the City after-party, will be held on the Regatta’s Bistro + Bar lawn on the Riverbank Promenade, in front of the Adelaide Convention Centre.

The themed ticketed event starts at 6pm with guests treated to a lamb spit roast, oven-baked gourmet pizzas, shaved beef, BBQ chicken skewers and self-serve salad and dessert bars. Two outdoor bars will be set up serving South Australian wines and beers.

Guests will also have a prime view of the Australia Day Fireworks Display. The fireworks will be launched from Pinky Flat after the cricket at Adelaide Oval, at around 9.30pm.

The Snazzy Sizzle BBQ is then followed at 10pm by an official Australia Day Concert After-Party where international DJ HMC will hit the decks to keep the celebrations going into the early hours of Monday’s public holiday.

Chief Executive Alec Gilbert said the centre is delighted to be partnering with Australia Day Council to launch the first new official Australia Day event in the revitalised Riverbank precinct.

“The Riverbank precinct will be buzzing with activity on Australia Day and guests at the Snazzy Sizzle will have front row seats,” said Mr Gilbert.

“We’re committed to adding vibrancy to the Riverbank precinct and the Snazzy Sizzle joins other successful events run or supported by the Centre including Centre ArtBeat, Live at Five at Regattas, Cellar Door Wine Festival, The Big Slapple Fringe precinct and Santa’s Fun Run.”

Australia Day Council of South Australia, Executive Officer, Matt Miles said Australia Day in the City has continued to grow in attendance every year and we’re very excited to add this new event to continue to grow Australia Day in Adelaide.

“Those attending the Snazzy Sizzle and After Party will indeed have one of the best views in Adelaide of the Australia Day Celebrations,” said Mr Miles.

Tickets for the Snazzy Sizzle are now on-sale priced at $49 which includes the buffet style gourmet BBQ and entry to the after-party while entry to the after-party can be purchased separately for $5. For ticketing information please visit www.adelaidecc.com.au
