New Orleans Is Coming To Norwood For Fringe

If you’ve always wanted to visit New Orleans, but never had the chance, this event just might be the thing to give you a little taste of the culture.

One of the best parts of the Adelaide Fringe is the way the streets flood with people from every corner of the world — and us locals are very welcoming of it all. Particularly the food. And the drinks.

That’s why we’re super excited about Lost Barrel Bar & Grill‘s New Orleans inspired Intimate Night With The Blues. Running for four nights from February 21-24, the event includes live music, food and a bartender visiting specially from America.

Tickets to the show get you a night of smooth tunes and a steaming plate of classic New Orleans gumbo! Plus, cocktail master and ex-Adelaidean, Mark Fantasia, will be shaking up drinks all weekend.

After moving to Los Angeles to pursue film and television work, Mark started bartending at the Soho House in West Hollywood. These days, Mark also manages a bar called Taste on Melrose where he has the freedom to create brand new cocktails of his own.

Inspired by New Orleans fare, he’ll be making Sazerac (a variation of a cognac or whiskey cocktail), the Hurricane (a sweet mix of rum, fruit juice, and syrup), the Vieux Carre (rye whiskey, Cognac, and sweet vermouth, alongside two bitters and a hint of a classic herbal liqueur), and the Ramos Gin Fizz (a gin cocktail with all the creaminess of a Pina Colada and none of the coconut; only citrus, sugar and vanilla).

Cocktails go for $15 each and Lost Barrel Bar & Grill’s special range of craft beers will be on special from $8.50.

Keeping you entertained will be Zkye, singing some of the best-known blues tunes. While she’s Adelaide-born, Zkye has traveled through the Delta belt of America and has performed throughout Louisiana and Memphis where she received many accolades for her talent.

Tickets for the Friday night show have already sold out, but there will be a few tickets still available at the door for $30pp which will get you a seat outside in the terrace. Full tickets are still available for all of the other nights.

If you’ve always wanted to visit New Orleans, but never had the chance, this event just might be the thing to give you a little taste of the culture.
