Vegan eatery Lucky Ducks has opened in Aldinga as local demand for plant-based goodness grows.
Located amongst the already popular intersection of Old Coach and Port road, the new vegan venture is being snapped up by locals and visitors alike.
Opening in the long-empty café, Rosey’s By The Sea, the location had been vacant until now.
After the installation of the new kitchen and shipping container bar, former Rosey’s head chef Jac Lovat, his fiancé Stacey Smith and Maxwell’s Grocery owners Richard and Lisa Maxwell opened Lucky Ducks.

Surrounded by popular restaurants and cafés, including Kick Back Brewing, Little Rickshaw and Maxwell’s Grocery, the eatery is impressing diners that are traveling to enjoy the menu.
The concept was developed off the back of Jac’s successful vegan pop-up that was trialed at Maxwell’s Grocery during the early COVID lockdown.
Lucky Ducks opened in late January this year with its popularity growing each weekend as locals froth over the offering.
Visitors are being drawn to the area to enjoy the menu that features the likes of some of your favourite flavour profiles including karaage cauliflower, salt and pepper eggplant and finishing with a basil cheesecake with summer fruits.
Caution, only be prepared to visit if you’re ready to be blown away by some of the most delicious vegan food you’ve eaten, amongst the growing food precinct.

Using locally sourced ingredients, Jac has brought the menu to life, showing how wholesome, versatile and interesting vegan food can be.
This niche cuisine is complemented by a wine list from Fleurieu brands such as Camwell, Geddes and Brash Higgins being served.
Think micro batches, sustainable and natural wines that pair perfectly with food that focuses on bold flavours that are designed to tantalise your tastebuds.
This location is no sitting duck, with 44 outdoor seats being filled each weekend.
Lucky Ducks is located at 206 Port Road, Aldinga. It is open Thursday to Sunday 5pm-late.
